Bel Canto Cedar Valley is a forty-voice auditioned chamber choir. Our members are professionally trained musicians or highly-skilled amateurs that represent a wide range of vocations, communities, and ages. Our current members range from current college students to retirees, and represent a variety of schools, universities, and companies. We come from Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids, Coralville, Denver, Dike, Hudson, Reinbeck, Waterloo, and Waverly. We share our life-long passion for music through our example, through outreach programs in our local schools, and by participating in community events.

Over the past 10 years, we have prided ourselves in presenting programs with a variety of choral music - there is something for everyone! We have performed music from the late 1500s, and we have premiered brand new music. We have sung in English, German, French, Ecclesiastical Latin, Germanic Latin, Italian, and Portuguese. Our programming has included Renaissance Madrigals, German Part-songs, American Spirituals, Vocal Jazz, Choral Improvisation, Folksong arrangements, excerpts from operas and Broadway musicals, choral-orchestral works, audience sing-alongs, and newly commissioned works.

A vital part of our mission is encouraging music as a life-long passion. Throughout our history, we have partnered with area public schools choral ensembles.
